Chicago Ballet Arts
Chicago Ballet Arts is a non-profit, community outreach program which has served Chicago`s north and northwest neighborhood children and young adults since 1986. The program began at Montay College, where it flourished for eight years. In 1994, Montay College closed. In 1995, CBA leased space at St. Scholastica Academy in west Rogers Park. Garden level areas were fully renovated into two professionally equipped studios, a small dressing room, office space and waiting room. Chicago Ballet Arts has continued to grow, with 98% of its former dancers returning and many new students entering the program each year. CBA has expanded four times and currently operates at capacity, serving serious classical ballet students from surrounding communities. Tuition is approximately half the cost of other professional programs. Expansion into additional studio space was completed in the summer of 2002. Students range in age from two through adult and represent a wide cross section of nationalities and income levels reflecting CBA`s location in one of the most ethnically diverse areas in Chicago. Chicago Ballet Arts is interested in continuing its growth, in keeping its programs affordable and its standards professional, and promoting awareness and understanding of the arts by being a strong cultural presence in the community. For Pre-School Children, Ages 2-4 Instructor: Ami Isett Program Concepts: Ami’s classes are based on providing age-centered activities to encourage children to develop important skills while having fun, as they sing, listen, think creatively, and express themselves through movement. They will be exposed to a variety of musical styles - classical, traditional, multicultural, and contemporary. They are encouraged to listen and explore music through movement, and to hear it rhythmically through the use of percussive instruments and other props. Call us at 773-381-0000
