Fox River Academy of Music & Art
We offer private, one-on-one instruction in piano, voice, guitar, violin, saxophone, harp, drums, and other instruments at all levels, from early childhood to adult. Enrollment in our music program includes theory classes, recitals, evaluated performances, and participation in group ensembles. Some other programs we currently offer are: Introduction to Art classes for ages 3-5 (preschool) and 5-7 (youth). Drawing Concepts classes for ages 8-12 (young adult) and 13+ (adult). "Miniature Musicians" - fundamentals of music for preschool children: Our preschool music program is designed to teach in a fun, engaging way the six main concepts of music. Students will learn that Music is made up of Pitch, Rhythm, Movement, Mood, and is a Language, both on a spoken and Universal level. Students exposed to these musical concepts are provided with an essential foundation for music appreciation, as well as an integral background of musical fundamentals for future private music study. The Miniature Musicians program is vocally based, making involvement accessible to all children. We keep our class size to a minimum (4-8 per group), to allow optimal attention to your child`s learning. The Miniature Musicians Program works through a series of three sessions, with each progressive session building on the concepts learned previously. At the end of each session, students participate in a music program, presenting the work of the session. Ensemble Programs: Students enrolled in our private lesson program can choose to participate in the following ensembles: Accompaniment Class Mixed Ensemble (Various Instruments) Guitar Ensemble Vocal Ensemble Piano Ensemble Performance Class During the quarter, students will participate in several rehearsals for their chosen class, and a performance showcasing their learned skills. Although some classes are run separately from the student`s private lesson, other ensembles are integrated into the student`s current lesson program by substituting the rehearsals for their weekly lesson.
