Dr. Butz grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. He found his first work in the optical industry the summer of 1975 after his graduation from high school. Here he worked polishing glass lenses before they were cut to fit into their frames. In the fall he began his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa. Dr. Butz continued to work in optical laboratories fitting and fabricating eyeglasses until he received his license to practice Optometry.
Dr. Butz received his doctorate degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois in May of 1983. He took and passed the licensing exams in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. At that time he took a position in a group practice in southern Indiana. Six months later he moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Dr. Butz practiced at this location until early 1990 when this location was combined with another near by optical which had been recently acquired by the parent corporation. At this time Dr. Butz purchased the practice of Dr. Frederick Boulton.

Our optical laboratory has the latest in equipment to not only fabricate your glasses, but to maintain and repair them should they become broken or damaged. We are able to tint, coat, harden and edge spectacle lenses. We are able to provide you with any frame or lens design available. Our highly qualified optician and staff are able to adjust and fit your glasses to you for extended comfort and vision.
Surgery Co-Management
Our office provides working arrangements with eye surgeons and more specialized eye care doctors to provide many of the surgical services such as Cataract surgery, Laser surgery, Refractive surgery and Strabismic surgery, retinal detachments, retinal tears and hemorrhages. You can be assured that your eyes will be comprehensively managed by the best eye care professionals.
