Piasa Winery
Piasa Winery Wines:
- Norton. We take great pride in this native varietal wine. The Norton grape has long been the premier wine grape of the Midwest. With barrel aging, this wine is a symphony of smooth oak, black cherry, and currant flavors. We hand-crafted it into a classic Old World style wine that pairs well with an elegant steak dinner.
- Chambourcin. A dry red velvety wine with hints of strawberry up front. Its softness combined with a ripe berry nose in a rich garnet color make this wine an easy transition from a sweet to a dry wine.
- River Road Red. A medium bodied, semi-dry, red wine made from a blend of grapes. It pairs especially well with grilled meats, chicken, spaghetti, hot wings, or pizza.
- Illini Red. A sweet wine made from a blend of our grapes. Its bright ruby red color showcases an abundance of fresh fruit and lively berry flavors. It's not your "ordinary" sweet, red wine.
- Chautauqua Chardonel. Aged in American oak barrels, this dry white wine has a rich buttery quality that comes from the French "sur lie" style of winemaking. Similar in style to a fine Chardonnay.
- River Road White. Similar to a Pinot Grigio, this crisp, semi-dry, white wine has flavors of pear and grapefruit. A perfect choice to serve with a simply prepared seafood dinner.
- Traminette. A semi-sweet varietal wine made from grapes related to the German Gewurztraminer. This wine has tropical flavors of pineapple and lychee with a hint of spice on the finish.
- Riverfest. This German-style, sweet, white wine is light, crisp, and fruity. It's a popular choice for a picnic.
- Bluff Side Blush. This exotic blend of our finest red and white grapes creates a semi-sweet wine with White Zinfandel characteristics.
- Illini White. A crisp, sweet, white wine made from our own Chardonel grapes. This wine is a consistent award winner and our most popular wine.
- Ouatoga Gold. A rich dessert wine made with Muscat grapes with flavors of apricot, peach, and pear. An excellent finish for any meal.
Piasa Winery Live Music is available on the deck: 2:00pm - 6:00pm from May through October. Our musicians offer acoustical playing of Rock & Roll, vocals of classic 70s songs everyone knows, folk and contemporary music, classic rock, tropical pop, guitar and vocals playing a mixture of blues, jazz, and originals.
