Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. employs 7 licensed funeral directors, 5 full-time staff, and 24 part-time support staff.
We offer families a choice of using our 12,000 square foot funeral home on Riverside Avenue on the West side or our 18,000 square foot funeral home and crematory on Mulford Avenue on the East side of Rockford. We own all of our own vehicles (9 in all), and perform all of our own embalming, removals, cremations, etc. We do not use "outsiders" or "third party providers". Families call us for and expect the signature "Fitzgerald" service we are noted for. We give nothing less.
We service families in the manner they wish to be served. We can unbundled any package, or add any service a family desires. We`re here to meet your needs.
Every family we serve, and every service we conduct is custom designed by each family when working with our licensed funeral arrangers. For clarity and ease of understanding, below we have summarized the types of services most of our families ask us to perform, but each service is different; each life is unique; and each family chooses to honor those lives in a manner appropriate to them.

Funeral Service Packages:
Traditional Service Package
The deceased is usually embalmed, dressed and placed in a casket for viewing, followed by a funeral service either in our chapel or in a church followed by a processional to the cemetery for a committal service. Family reception of some kind usually follows.
Contemporary Service Package
Very similar to the Traditional Service Package, except the viewing is only held immediately prior to the funeral service.
Graveside Service Package
A brief committal service is held for family and friends at the grave followed by earth burial.
